胎生

Uterine birth, womb-born. Before the differentiation of the sexes birth is supposed to have been by transformation. The term is also applied to beings enclosed in unopened lotuses in paradise, who have not had faith in Amitābha but trusted to their own strength to attain salvation; there they remain for proportionate periods, happy, but without the presence of the Buddha, or Bodhisattvas, or the sacred host, and do not hear their teaching. The condition is known as [lang id =1028]胎宮, the womb-palace.

四生之一。 如人類在母胎內完具身體而生者， 劫初之人， 男女未分， 皆為化生， 其後發淫情而生男女二根， 始為胎生也。 《俱舍論》八曰： ‘有情類生從胎藏是名胎生， 如象馬牛豬羊驢等。’

◆胎生者， 謂含藏而生也。 謂世間之人， 含藏於母胎之中， 滿足十月而生是也。 ◆胎生金翅鳥王， 居樹南面， 欲取龍時， 飛往樹上， 乃即飛下， 令水開四百由旬， 取龍食之。 此鳥王惟能取卵、 胎二生龍， 不能取濕、 化二生龍也。 ◆胎生龍， 居樹南面， 所居宮殿， 皆七寶莊嚴。 ◆謂若於天中， 降德貶墜， 生於彼道。 其所卜居， 鄰於日月。 此阿脩羅從胎而出， 人趣所攝。 ◆胎生者， 從胞胎而出生也。 謂此類有情， 因愛欲雜染之惑， 起橫、 豎亂想之業， 惑業相滋， 故感此生之報， 即人畜龍仙之類是也。 （橫、 豎者， 人身豎， 而畜生橫也。 因行正道， 得為人類， 故身豎； 因行邪道， 感生畜類， 故身橫也。 ）

四生之一， 即由母胎而生， 如人類在母胎之內完成身體之後才出生是。 劫初的人類， 男女未分， 所以都是化生， 後來因為發生淫情， 生出男女二根， 才變為胎生。
